1b. Nominees

For each nomination, nominators should nominate an Election Management Body or Election Management Official in combination with a specific initiative. An exception is the “International Institutional Engagement Award” where nominators should nominate International Institutions, Governmental and Non-Governmental Organisations, Charities and people working in the third sector.

Anyone who is a member of the Electoral Stakeholders Award Committee - be it an individual or the organisation they represent – cannot be nominated for any award that year.

In addition the Electoral Stakeholders Award Committee reserves its right to exclude nominees from the award process if it considers that a nominated initiative does not fit the description of the award category, or due to suspicion of unethical or illegal behaviour of the nominee. Decisions to exclude nominees from the award process are final and cannot be appealed.

1c. Nomination Form

Nominations will only be accepted when submitted online, using the Electoral Stakeholders Award Nomination form. Only complete nomination forms will be considered. Unfortunately, we will not be able to process any nominations send via postal mail, fax, e-mail etc. Nominations that do not reach a minimum of 300 words will not be considered.

Any nominator may take the opportunity to upload additional information and supporting documents using the upload-function on the nomination website. Please do not upload documents larger than 5MB. This is an optional but recommended possibility because the Committee will access all nominations on the basis of the material that has been submitted

1d. Number and Type of Nominations

The number of awards is strictly limited and will be announced prior to the start of the nomination period.

Every nominator can only make one nomination per award. The form will allow nominating the same nominee in multiple categories. However, a given initiative will only be considered for one award by the committee, who will choose which category it is most suited for.

Self nomination is allowed.

Posthumous nominations are not possible.

1e. Confidentiality

Nominators will remain anonymous.

1f. Progress of Nomination

Once the nomination is submitted it will be reviewed by the Electoral Stakeholders Award Committee. The Committee may decide to consider a nomination to a different category from the one proposed by the nominator if it seems more appropriate to the initiative selected. The Committee will create a shortlist on the basis of the nominations made in each category. The shortlist will be published once it has been generated. We regret that we cannot give any information about the status of nominations prior to the Award Ceremony.

1g. Changes to submitted Nominations

Once submitted, it will not be possible for the nominator to either cancel the nomination or change the information provided. Additional supporting documents can be uploaded to your nomination until the end of the nomination deadline.
